Cultivation of high value crops through mulching in Bhairab Upazila:

Mulching is a modern, commercial and eco-friendly method of soil temperature control, water conservation, efficient use of fertilizers, control of insects, diseases and relief from weed sufferings and creating a favorable environment for cultivation.

In this method, as the vegetable plants grow properly, the yield also doubles.

In Shibpur, Municipality, Kalikaprasad Union of Bhairab Upazila, tomato, pepper and other high value crops are being cultivated by mulching method and gradually the use of mulching method is increasing.
